![]() About Us Maple Street Congregational Church was born in the social ferment of the mid-nineteenth century - in 1844 - as a response to the growing anti-slavery movement. In the years following, the Church has given high priority to its ministry of social awareness and outreach in Danvers, in Massachusetts and places around the world. The present sanctuary, classrooms and offices were dedicated in 1949, following a fire which destroyed the old building but not the spirit and determination of church members and friends. Maple Street Church is a member of the United Church of Christ, a merger in 1957 of the Congregational-Christian and Evangelical-Reformed denominations. Here is a floorplan of our facilities:
