SPECIAL EVENTS -- Summer 2008

During the summer/vacation months of June, July and August, few special events are held at Maple St. Church. Included here are worship services and summer church school classes. You and your family are warmly invited to join us as often as you can.

Sunday, June 1
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated during our 10:00 a.m. worship service. We also recognize the young people of our church family who are graduating from high school this week.

Sunday, June 8
Family Worship Sunday acknowledging the end of the regular church school year. Various persons, younger and older, will offer leadership for this service. (Please note the beginning of summer church school on the 22nd of June.)

Sunday, June 15
The Sacrament of Baptism will be celebrated for one of our families. We recognize and welcome all fathers who worship with us this Father's Day.

Sunday, June 22
Elsa Marshall, Commissioned Minister of Christian Education and Youth, will offer the sermon at the 10:00 a.m. worship service. The summer church school program begins this Sunday - "Sunday Summer Olympics: Win the Race with Paul." Everyone from ages three and up is welcome to join this time. We encourage children to bring visitors and friends.

Sunday, July 6
Our worship setting shifts from the sanctuary to our chapel during July and August. Worship with us in this comfortable, air-conditioned space; summer worship services, which continue at the 10:00 a.m. hour, are shorter and less formal than those of the regular church year.

Sunday, August 3
The Sacrament of Baptism will be celebrated for one of our families.

PLEASE NOTE -- The 2008-09 church years begins Sunday, September 7 when we return to the sanctuary for our Rally Day worship service. The church school year begins this Sunday with a light breakfast and registration for church school classes and choirs at 9:15 a.m. MAY YOU HAVE A SAFE, RESTFUL AND ENJOYABLE SUMMER

THE WORSHIP SERVICE OF MAPLE STREET CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST, CAN BE SEEN ON DANVERS CABLE STATION 9 EACH SUNDAY 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (one week delay). BLESSINGS AND PEACE TO ALL.
