Our Church's Wider Mission

Our Church's Wider Mission (OCWM) is a significant part of our Church's annual budget. This outreach connects us with partner churches in more than 70 countries around the world, responding to health, education, community and faith needs. OCWM supports the work of 130 missionaries and 70 mission associates. Programs include strong advocacy for justice and human rights, economic development as well as direct assistance with disaster relief.

The Salem Mission
The second Saturday of each month from October through May our church prepares and serves a dinner at the Salem Mission. We have had more than 63 members of our church participate in this endeavor over the last two years. We work from 3:30 to 7:30 and if you would like to help, please contact our church office. During the year we give toiletries at Christmas to those staying in the Shelter and recently prepared a Valentine's gift of more toiletries and special candy.

The People to People Food Pantry
The second Sunday of each month we collect non perishable food for the Danvers Food Pantry. These items are collected in our Narthex on Sunday morning and delivered to the pantry on Monday. If you would like to help, please come to our service on Sunday morning and bring your canned goods. We would love to have you join us.

Other Mission Projects
Along with hands on projects, each month we dispurse funds to two or three non profit organizations that are in the business of helping others. Some of them are as follows: Operation Troop Support, Mercy Ships (hospital ships to undeveloped countries), Habitat for Humanity, Citizens for Adequate Housing, Heifer International, Help for Abused Women and Children etc.
