Confirmation Information
Our dynamic youth ministry program
is offered every Sunday evening in the Social Hall 4:30PM to 6PM. All youth grades four and up are invited to participate in the many
and varied programs i.e. white water rafting, a whale watching boat
trip, serving the People to People Pantry, Common Cathedral, Common
Art, Learning and Serving, and ARC game nights. These are only a few
examples of the varied experiences offered. Fun, fellowship, mission
and service, retreats and special activities are the components of our
youth ministry. The Sr. High youth take a mission trip during April
vacation and in the summer. Sunday evenings at 4:30 PM is meeting time
allowing time for sports, family dinners, homework and the many other
things that place demand upon young people's time and talents.
All youth- grades four through high school - are invited and encouraged to participate in youth ministry programs as their lives and schedules allow. Every Sunday evenings' ministry is designed so that regular attendance is not needed to be part of the "beloved" community and fellowship. The youth ministry team consists of more than twelve adult volunteers as well as the Commissioned Minister of Christian Education and Youth Ministry. These ministry teams are responsible for the spiritual nurture and care of our youth and they advocate for the youth in the broader life and work of the congregation. Mission Possible 2008 Our annual mission trip during April vacation week for high school youth. This year we will be traveling to New Orleans to participate in the reconstruction of that city which was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Friday Flicks Offered every other Friday night showing current DVD’s, videos for grades four and up. Snacks and popcorn are available. Watch the church bulletin, Spire and youth newsletter for ministries, programs, and events planned for youth throughout the church calendar year. The youth leadership teams have committed themselves to the spiritual nurture and ministerial care of our youth, for planning meetings that are appropriate to our youth’s Christian development and to advocating for our youth in the broader life and work of the congregation.
