Sunday School
At Maple Street Church we welcome and support with love and rejoicing all children!
“Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for such belongs the Kingdom of God. Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it. And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands upon them.” Mark 10:14-16
Children and youth are an important part of the life of the church and are invited to share in worship and all faith formation programs and ministries. Upon arriving at Maple Street Sunday morning, families will find bulletins, names tags & pew packs for kids in baskets at both doors to the Sanctuary. “Greeters” are on hand to offer any assistance needed.
Each Sunday morning children begin in worship with their families. Following the Gathering of Children in the order of worship, children are invited to process to the Education Wing where they gather in the “Cuvatent’ room to share in offering prayers of joys and concerns, bless their weekly offering to Heifer International, and share a Bible story.
Children then break into smaller groups for hands on activities based on their grade level (PreK-1, 2-4, 5-7). On several Sundays throughout the year, all children and youth are invited to participate in Maple Street’s intergenerational worship services or all ages events and on First Sunday’s we come together for Family Worship & Communion in the sanctuary with kids of all ages taking part in sharing the scripture passage through word and song.
Nursery care and toddler care is available each Sunday in the Kids Corner with a trained Childcare Provider and student helpers. Our goal is to meet the individual needs of families while offering a safe, nurturing and caring environment for infants and young children. Audio streaming of morning worship is available in the Chapel and Kitchen.
